“Gentlemen of the Road”

April 16, 2010

by Charlie:

…to be precise, they were in Berlin!

Thanks to a sick boyfriend (we wish him to get well soon!) Kaede and me were very lucky to get concert tickets for the hottest folk singers there are: Marcus Mumford, Country Winston, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane a.k.a. Mumford&Sons.

But before we could lose ourselves in their passionate play and really beautiful lyrics we were introduced to a lovely singer – songwriter from Down Under:  Lisa Mitchell.  I really liked her soft and dreamy voice.

The second additional act that night was Johnny Flynn with his trumpet dominating music.

And then, after two hours of waiting it was show time for the good looking gentlemen from London with their stunning and beautiful melodies and the perfect harmony they show while singing. Especially the light and soulful voice of Marcus Mumford with this light rasping sound sends  shivers down your spine. And Ted Dwane’s fierce finger play on the contrabass makes you wish you were the instrument in his hands…
